NLL LEGEND - ANGELA TAGG
Meet our December NLL Legend Angela Tagg, who after a year of illness and treatment has got back into exercise with the Macmillan Move More Circuit Class in The Tryst Sports Centre.

Have you enjoyed taking part in the class?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Move More Class, it was exactly what I needed to get back to exercise. It was good knowing the instructor had the knowledge and expertise to ease me back into exercise properly, as I was very apprehensive and scared about doing too much too soon. Trisha was great, she gave me such a warm welcome to the class, it was so nice.
How has the class benefited you?
Attending the Move More class has definitely built up my confidence to get back to regular exercise. I have been a NL member for many years and enjoyed classes on a regular basis however, after a year of illness and treatment it knocked my confidence. It was good being amongst other people who have also been through a cancer diagnosis or indeed live with cancer. It definitely helped being able to chat to others who had similar experiences to myself.
Have you enjoyed doing group exercise?
I love group exercise, I always have. I actually had to hold back tears at my first class. I felt really emotional when we were all in a circle doing the warm up. For me, it had been a long time coming and at times wondered if I would ever get back. They most definitely were happy tears.
What are your long term goals?
My long term goals with regard to fitness is to simply get back to doing what I use to do. I love attending classes, Body Attack, Body Pump and Boot Camp. I have recently enjoyed Body Balance too. Just to be back doing regular exercise will be a huge achievement.
Any advice for anyone thinking of coming to the class?
I would encourage anyone who has had a debilitating illness like cancer to get back to regular exercise with the Move More class. Knowing your instructor has the expertise in fitness rehabilitation is key. It definitely put my mind at ease. The exercises are set so you can work at your own pace and each week with Trisha’s support and encouragement, you can push yourself that wee bit harder which is great. Everyone is so friendly and all so happy, it was a pleasure to go to the class.
The Move More class has without doubt been the best first steps back to fitness for me. There are not enough words to express my gratitude and appreciation that this class was available at a time I needed it most.
