NLL Legend - Pat Dillon!
Pat Dillon – NLL Legend
Our latest NLL Legend is Pat Dillon who trains at the Time Capsule in Coatbridge. Pat who is 80 years old, attends the gym four of five days a week and views exercise as the key to staying fit, healthy and feeling young!
Pat primarily attends the Time Capsule and has done since the gym opened. Pat has long held a keen interest in fitness, having previously been in the Army. Pat served for 4 years, with one particular highlight being when he participated in the gymnastics routine in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 1959. The event was televised and was a brilliant occasion to be involved in!
Over the year, Pat has always placed a significance on staying active and commented that this has always been an important part of his life. When in the gym, Pat enjoys using the functional rig as well as the free weights area.
Pat hopes that his story can help to inspire others of a similar age to keep active and attend the gym. He urged those of a similar age who may be fearful of stepping into the gym environment to ‘just go for it’, saying that if you’re ever scared then you can go with a friend or speak to the gym staff within the venue who will be more than happy to help you out.
All of us here at NL Leisure would like to say a big thank you to Pat for sharing his inspiring story with us, Pat’s dedication to staying active is one that we can all take note of!
