NLL Legend - Brayne Williams
NLL Legend – Brayne Williams
This week’s NLL Legend is Brayne Williams! Brayne is 12-years old and attends our Gymnastics programme at Wishaw Sports Centre.
Brayne recently took home the top prize in her first Gymnastics competition and you can read her story below:
1. Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Brayne, I’m 12 years old, and I’ve loved doing gymnastics since I was 9 years old. I taught myself a lot about gymnastics before that then started the classes at NL Leisure. My favourite subject at school is Physical Education.
2. How did you get into your sport/ How long have you been taking part in it for?
My Dad saw the classes advertised somewhere and brought me along to a tumbling class and I really enjoyed it! I now attend two classes a week which is tumbling and four piece. Four piece involves using all pieces of equipment and I’ve been going for around 4 years now.
3. Whats your favourite thing about your sport?
I like to do tumbling, I enjoy doing back handsprings and tucks and going on the trampolines. I really enjoy seeing my friends at the classes too.
4. What are your ambitions for the future?
I see myself doing more competitions as I won the overall for my age at our first NL Leisure Gymnastics Floor and Vault competition and I was really happy with that.
5. Any comments you would like to add?
I would really like to get into coaching and teaching younger kids how to do gymnastics when I’m a bit older.
All of us here at NL Leisure would like to say a huge well done to Brayne on her brilliant win at her Gymnastics Floor & Vault competition – keep up the good work!
That’s all for this week’s NLL Legend instalment, be sure to keep an eye on our social media for more great stories coming soon!
