Meet The Team Jonathan Sinclair

Tell us about yourself and your job?
My name is Jonathan Sinclair and I am 28 years old (really I'm 34), I live in Airdrie with my girlfriend who is also a Group Fitness Instructor and her 2 kids. I have been in my current day job for nearly 2 years and I am an area manager for CJ Lang/Spar Scotland and I absolutely love my job. I get to travel lots and see how beautiful Scotland is, as well as being able to have a bit of a life as I am Mon-Fri dayshift. My previous job was working for Morrisons for 15 years, the last 2 years of which I was duty manager in Partick.

What interested you in a career in the health and fitness industry?
From a very young age I was very interested and passionate about health and fitness. It all started with standard grade and higher PE. It got me addicted. I represented the North of Scotland for hockey and badminton, went on to play for a few teams at football including Airdrie before doing Athletics for 8 years where my biggest achievement was Scottish bronze medal for 400m. More recently I have dabbled with powerlifting and I enjoy lifting weights in the gym. About 4 years ago I completed the Insanity 60 day challenge and I got in pretty good shape and I thoroughly enjoyed it. When the opportunity of becoming an insanity instructor arose I jumped at the chance as I wanted to help others get fit and healthy and I wanted them to experience some of the joy and results I did. Once I got insanity certified other courses quickly followed as I really enjoyed seeing my classes work hard, get results, and most of all, enjoy themselves! 😊. As well as insanity I also teach P90X, Circuits and Fat burn Extreme.

What are your hobbies?
My main hobby is undoubtedly going to the gym! There is no better feeling than putting in some hard work! I'm also a very competitive person so I like competing in most things I do whether it's athletics, powerlifting or beating Dawn at Jenga! I absolutely love going to the cinema and I probably go at least once a fortnight.  I have about 400 DVD’s in my collection so I like chilling out and watching movies with the family also. Another interest of mine is eating out, I LOVE good food! I'd have to say my favourite is Italian! I also like to help others achieve their fitness goals or simply giving them a bit of advice.

That’s all for this ‘Meet the Team’ segment. Stay tuned for more coming soon!
