Meanwhile Robin Morrison and Tegan Kerr both from Cumbernauld took third place in their B finals for the 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly respectively.
Despite the disappointment of losing out in a quarter final place North Lanarkshire’s footballers believe the experience will be invaluable to their future development in the sport.
James Miller, aged 15 from Coatbridge, said:
“We played well throughout the tournament and we’ve been a bit unlucky not to go through.
“We’re disappointed to have missed out but the experience has been great and we’re really grateful to our coach Nicky Laughlin and everyone at NL Leisure for all their support.”
