Emma - JogScotland
Emma, 58, attends our JogScotland programme and we recently spoke to her about the programme and the benefits that it brings her! Read her story below.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a 58 year old married woman who works full time during the day.
When & why did you enjoy JogScotland?
When I first decided to join Jog Scotland about 11 years ago, I was also the mother of a teenage boy and a carer to my father and an elderly aunt.
It was at this time, I decided I needed to do something and find some “ME” time! I wanted to get fit but also be part of a group. One of the JogScotland leaders worked beside me and told me about the group. At first I made all the excuses to why I couldn’t go, but with the support of my family I went along.
What benefits have you found from joining JogScotland?
The benefits have been numerous. Firstly my fitness and general health have improved ten fold. Another great benefit is I have been lucky enough to have met and made such great friends with so many lovely people. So much so in recent years I and some of the ladies go on holiday together.
What would you say to anybody interested in trying JogScotland?
Come along and experience the camaraderie as well as getting fit. We all support each other and look out for each other. It gives you interests out with your family circle!
