North Lanarkshire Leisure (NLL) is a registered Scottish charity, regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). The Company is wholly owned by North Lanarkshire Council and was established in 2006 to deliver sport, recreational, health improving and social welfare services to the community of North Lanarkshire. We are an entirely not-for-profit organisation; any surpluses are invested in improving facilities, services, activity programmes, staff training and other developments in line with the charitable objectives. We have approximately 1,000 staff who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the area, improving individual quality of life and collective quality of living in the communities we serve.

 

Fitness Specialist (20 hours) (10 posts)                                                    NLL10/20

£10.80 to £13.24 per hour

 

Based throughout North Lanarkshire you will be responsible for the safety and conduct of customers in the gym, carry out induction training for new users and will complete and promote personal training options to members.

A Personal Trainer Level 3 certificate from a recognised REPS accredited governing body and experience of working in a gym environment as well as previous personal training experience are essential. A First Aid certificate is desirable. A pleasant manner, good physical fitness and excellent communication skills are of prime importance.

As a requirement of this post, the successful candidate must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland. If the successful candidate is currently a PVG Scheme member the cost of a "Scheme Update" is £18. If the successful candidate is not a PVG Scheme member the cost for PVG membership is £59.

These posts will be based within the following venues: Wishaw Sports Centre, Airdrie Leisure Centre, The Time Capsule, Coatbridge, Tryst Sports Centre, Cumbernauld and Aquatec, Motherwell.

 

Pattern of hours: You will be required to work flexibly over 7 days
