North Lanarkshire Leisure (NLL) is a registered Scottish charity, regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). The Company is wholly owned by North Lanarkshire Council and was established in 2006 to deliver sport, recreational, health improving and social welfare services to the community of North Lanarkshire. We are an entirely not-for-profit organisation; any surpluses are invested in improving facilities, services, activity programmes, staff training and other developments in line with the charitable objectives. We have approximately 1,000 staff who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the area, improving individual quality of life and collective quality of living in the communities we serve.

  

 

Leisure Attendant – Ice (14 hour variable)                                                  NLL 51/19

£9.75 to £12.02 per hour

 

Based in The Time Capsule your main task will be to assist our customers within this busy venue and ensure that all ice users adhere to ice rink rules and health and safety procedures at all times. You will patrol and monitor the ice pad and work within the skate hire area issuing, cleaning and maintaining skates as required.

You will be a competent skater with excellent communication and customer care skills. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

As a requirement of this post, the successful candidate must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland. If the successful candidate is currently a PVG Scheme member the cost of a "Scheme Update" is £18. If the successful candidate is not a PVG Scheme member the cost for PVG membership is £59.

* As a variable contracted employee, your hours of work are variable as per the weekly rota issued to you. You will be required to work a minimum of 4 hours each week. You will be required to work additional hours up to a maximum of 35 hours per week when authorised and necessitated by the needs of the service. Due to the nature of a variable hours’ contract, there is a requirement for you to be flexible in terms of the hours you are available to work and the venues you are available to work in. You will be expected to work in any venue within North Lanarkshire if required, however, every effort will be made, where possible, to ensure that staff work in cluster sites in either the north, central or south of the area. Please note that variable contracted employees are entitled to all North Lanarkshire Leisure Terms and Conditions of Service on a pro-rata basis.

Pattern of hours: You will be required to work these hours flexibly over 7 days.

Swimming Teacher (5 posts)

£10.80 to £13.24 per hour

Based in one of the below venues, you will ensure the safe and effective operation of the swimming lesson programme, teach and develop appropriate lessons for groups and individuals as well as undertaking promotional and marketing duties in connection with all lessons.

With experience in a leisure facility, you will hold a minimum of an ASA/UKCC Level 1 Teachers qualification in swimming or equivalent with a requirement to attain ASA/UKCC Level 2 Teachers qualification in swimming or equivalent within 6 months of appointment. You will also have experience and an understanding of the health and safety requirements within the leisure industry.

Equally important is your team player attitude as is your ability to work on your own initiative.  Excellent communication and customer care skills, as well as the ability to comply with the flexible hours associated with the programme, are also essential.
