Kilbowie Outdoor Centre
Kilbowie Outdoor Centre gives North Lanarkshire youngsters a whole new meaning to experiencing Scotland’s ‘great outdoors’. A fundamental venue at the heart of the North Lanarkshire community, the centre has welcomed over 30,000 primary school visitors in the past 15 years. Kilbowie gives youngsters from across North Lanarkshire the chance to experience a range of activities to get the pulse racing such as abseiling, climbing, watersports, skiing and gorge walking.
Primary 7 pupils from across North Lanarkshire are given the chance to attend Kilbowie for a week-long experience of a lifetime, learning life skills and enjoying time away from home with their fellow pupils before moving on to secondary education. During the week-long stay, all equipment is provided.
On the shores of the Sound of Kerrera to the South of Oban, Kilbowie is ideally situated for outdoor activities. While enjoying the experience at the centre, youngsters will complete chores, expand their experience of their natural surroundings and increase their social and team skills, helping to prepare them for life in secondary education.
