A Bright Future
A Bright Future
Adele Russell started working at NL Leisure early in 2014 as a dance apprentice. Although Adele's initial contract was for 6 months, she made a fantastic impression on everyone she worked with and the sport development team had no hesitation in offering her a full time job with NL as a dance coach. Adele was delighted to accept the position as she loved working with the company and sports development team had been dancing since I was 3 years old and had a huge passion for the sport.
Adele started working at the Friday Night Project in Birkenshaw early in March of 2014 as a dance coach and when she first started there were no young people interested in dance. Adele began to inject her passion and enthusiasm for the sport into some of the young people and after working with a small group of girls and getting to know them she was able to form a group of 10 girls who began to develop a love for dance. Adele started working with the girls towards a number of competitions and shows and could not believe the improvement she saw in the girls in such a short period of time.
Adele said: "As a coach it was rewarding see the girls grow in confidence and develop their technique. During my time at Birkenshaw I have worked with children from all walks of life and coached them in not only dance but also badminton, basketball and football. My job as a coach is immensely rewarding."
Adele has relished the opportunity to work at the Friday Night Project and loves working with so many young people and getting them interested in various sports. Adele's time with NL Leisure has inspired her to apply for Camp America and gain further coaching experience and inspire more children. She recently found out she has been accepted for Camp America and will be heading out in the summer 2015 which she is extremely excited for.
