North Lanarkshire Leisure (NLL) is a registered Scottish charity, regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). The Company is wholly owned by North Lanarkshire Council and was established in 2006 to deliver sport, recreational, health improving and social welfare services to the community of North Lanarkshire. We are an entirely not-for-profit organisation; any surpluses are invested in improving facilities, services, activity programmes, staff training and other developments in line with the charitable objectives. Mechanical Engineer (2 posts) NLL 09/20

This is an opportunity for a qualified Engineer to join a multi-functional team based throughout North Lanarkshire.
Reporting to the Estates Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for undertaking planned and reactive maintenance/repairs within our venues and to various plant and machinery, including heating and ventilation systems, pool filtration plant and associated mechanical installations.
You will be educated to SVQ level 3 and hold a recognised 4 year apprenticeship in a relevant engineering background or equivalent. You will also have comprehensive technical skills within a maintenance background as well as extensive experience in commercial fault finding and rectification are essential for this post.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong focus on customer care, flexible work approach and good communication skills. IPAF, PASMA, COSHH, Pool Plant Operators and Safe Entry Confined Space certificates, as well as previous experience of working in a similar capacity within the leisure industry are advantageous.
You will be required to work on a shift/rota system for call out during evenings and weekends to maintain service standards with additional payments made. A current full UK Drivers Licence is also essential for this post as a company van is provided for business purposes only.
Pattern of hours: You will be required to work flexibly over 7 days.
