Handball in North Lanarkshire is a developing sport within the area and North Lanarkshire Leisure is at the forefront of that development as they strive to build a number of handball initiatives across the area.

North Lanarkshire Leisure currently has three handball classes included in their fantastic Kids NL activity programme. Sessions can be accessed as part of the kids membership scheme or on a pay-as-you-go basis. These sessions can be found at the Iain Nicolson Recreation Centre in Chryston, Airdrie Leisure Centre and Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell. North Lanarkshire Leisure has also included handball as one of the key sports in their kids holiday programme (Easter, Summer, October) with multiple sessions at Broadwood Leisure Facility and Tryst Sports Centre, both in Cumbernauld and also at the Iain Nicolson Recreation Centre in Chryston. Handball in North Lanarkshire also has a long established presence in the North of the area - in Cumbernauld. Local club Tryst 77 were formed, as the name suggests, in 1977 and have continued to work in the community throughout that time. The club currently run 5 teams of different ages and all abilities – women (16+), men (16+), Youths (13-15years), juniors (11-14years) and minis (7-11years).

A new team was recently set up in the South of the area at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility. Ravenscraig Handball Club was formed in February this year and as the club look to establish themselves new players are welcomed and encouraged.  Please find times below.

For Ravenscraig Handball Club and Tryst 77 Handball Club new players are always welcome, so whether you’ve played in the top leagues of Germany, have recently picked up a ball for the first time or even just watched Champions League on television, all levels and abilities are catered for. Venue and session times are noted above.
