National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC)

6 - 12 Hours

All candidates must be involved in the activity of swimming coaching or teaching.  This is not a Lifeguard qualification.  The Course Manual and Assessment fee is included within the course fee (any candidate referred for assessment will need to cover the cost of any additional course fees).

6 hour course plus assessment 

This course is recommended for all candidates wishing to renew their qualification or hold / have held a relevant swimming pool operation qualification. All candidates will be required to undertake pre-course work and complete a number of worksheets for submission to the tutor at the start of the course.

12 hour course plus assessment

This course is recommended for all swimming teachers and coaches new to this qualification, or for those who have responsibility for working in a swimming pool environment without the need for a formal lifeguard qualification. The course is delivered over 2 days and candidates will undertake theory and practical training in basic rescue techniques and resuscitation, along with understanding the theory and practice relating to swimming pool operations and supervision of a poolside relating to programmed activity.
