National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

Minimum 38 Hours Contact Time

All candidates must be 16 years of age at the commencement of the course. (There are no exceptions to this rule). The NPLQ is a physically demanding course and requires a reasonable swimming ability. All candidates must be able to meet the following minimum swimming standards prior to beginning the course; jump or dive into deep water, swim 100m on your front followed by 100m on your back without stopping and then tread water for 30 secs, swim 50m on your front within 60 secs and surface dive to a minimum depth of 1.5m.

The Course Manual and Assessment fee is included within the course fee (any candidate referred for assessment will need to cover the cost of any additional course fees).
