Waysiders Drumpellier RFC Enjoy 2012 Six Nations Launch

It was a sporting dream come true for Iain Grant, North Lanarkshire Leisure and the SRU’s Rugby Development Officer when he was invited to the Royal Bank of Scotland’s 2012 Six Nations launch at the Hurlingham Club in London on the 25^th January 2012.

The RBS 6 nations tournament, which is the oldest, most attended and most watched rugby tournament in the world started on the 4^th February and will once again see Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Italy and France compete for the coveted Calcutta Cup. (This has been now)

Iain and Craig Collin, Head Coach of the Wayside Drumpelliers Rugby Football Club were invited to the launch as the Scottish winners of the 2011 RBS Rugby Force Programme, having been chosen from hundreds of registrations alongside the other home country winners. RBS Rugby Force is a nationwide community volunteer programme which helps local rugby clubs to improve their facilities and at the same time gather members, supporters, friends and family.

Iain said “We were delighted when Waysiders Drumpellier RFC were announced as the Scottish winners of the 2011 RBS Rugby Force programme, but the icing on the cake was when Craig and myself were invited to attend the 6 nations launch”, and Craig added “It was incredible to be in the midst of our sporting hero’s amongst the best rugby players in the world and I’m certainly looking forward to watching this years tournament”.
