Free Waterpark Access for NLL Members

Access NL members can now enjoy free entry to the Time Capsule - Scotland’s Water Park.

Councillor Jim Logue, Chair of North Lanarkshire Leisure (NLL) said: “As a charity with sport, recreation, advancement of health and provision of social welfare charitable objectives, NLL are continually looking at ways to get more people, more active more often and therefore I am delighted to announce that that Time Capsule is now free to all Access NL members at all times.”

Since re-opening in January last year the attendances at the popular attraction have hit record levels which will return it to being one of the most popular tourist attractions; attracting visitors from all over Scotland, the UK and Ireland once again.

The Access NL membership scheme provides great value for money for those who regularly take part in sport and leisure activities and with a Kids Access NL membership starting at just £5 per month when accompanied by an adult membership this offers truly outstanding value.

With 30,000 members, Access NL is the most popular membership scheme of its type in Scotland which allows unlimited access to gyms, swims, health suites, community fitness classes, kids programmes and a range of other unique benefits in 13 sports and leisure venues across North Lanarkshire.

Blane Dodds, Chief Executive of North Lanarkshire Leisure added: “We are currently revising our swimming pool programming across all of our sites so that our customers and residents can have access to pools at different times for different purposes. For instance we have introduced ‘swim fit’ sessions at the Tryst and Wishaw Sports Centre’s which provides lane swimming for those who want to use our pools to improve their fitness levels, or compete in competitions like open water swims and triathlons.

With the London Olympics this year we are asking everyone to make a personal pledge to improving their health and wellbeing. By extending the Access NL scheme to include the Time Capsule we are now providing our members with access to the best leisure pool in Scotland at no extra charge”.

Sammy McClung, the Facilities Manager of the Time Capsule said: “This is great news; swimming with friends and family in the fun environment that the Time Capsule provides is a very important part of socialising, growing up, and enjoying a healthy and active lifestyle and we look forward to welcoming Access NL members from all over North Lanarkshire to Scotland’s Water Park on a regular basis from now on.”

North Lanarkshire Leisure took over the management and operation of the Time Capsule last year following a massive £6.5m refurbishment of the leisure pool which included the installation of the ‘Tornado Tantrum’, which is one of the largest multi-rider flumes in Scotland and ‘Splashdown Island’, which is a multi-activity, multi-level inter-active water play feature with a giant tipping water bucket, together with a whole host of other new features.
