International Children's Games venue to host another Badminton Bonanza

BADMINTONscotland are gearing up for their first event of the new season, the thirty-seventh Badminton Bonanza Championships.

The Bonanza will be staged on Sunday 28 August at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, the brand new venue which was also the setting for the recent International Children's Games badminton competition.

It will be the first time a Badminton Bonanza Championships has been held in Lanarkshire and what a cracker it promises to be.

The Bonanza tournaments are aimed at club and league standard players, giving them a chance to play some competitive games in a fun and friendly, yet competitive environment. They attract players from all over Scotland, and even players from other parts of the UK, with recent events welcoming numerous English and Irish competitors.

Entries are open to all players aged 18 and over who have not played at National level or for their county during the last five years. Players are divided into groups, guaranteeing at least three games per person per event before the winners of each group progress to a knockout tournament. Men's and Ladies' doubles as well as Mixed Doubles events will all be played over the weekend.
