Derek Gamble

Derek Gamble was appointed as a Director of NLL in July 2006 as a representative of the business community.  As an active business owner for many years, Derek has created several successful and diverse companies in the local area and served Monklands as a Director with Scottish Enterprise for ten years.

Derek left school and joined the construction industry where he specialised in the investigation and solving of construction defects.  He was soon recognised as an authority on the subject, consulting on many major engineering projects throughout Europe and developing and patenting his own products.

Derek has been involved in the football community coaching for almost 20 years.  He has served as the Chairman of the Monklands league for six years and also as Secretary of Victoria FC. He is passionate about the positive impact sport can make on the life of young and old alike.

Derek is the father of five young sons and looking after them, together with his sporting, charitable and business interests, means that Derek’s only hobby is sleep!
