Meet Councillor Clare Adamson

Clare Adamson

 

Clare Adamson was elected in May 2007 as Councillor for Wishaw Ward of North Lanarkshire Council and was appointed as a Director of North Lanarkshire Leisure in April 2009.

 

Prior to her election Clare had a 20 year career in the IT Industry, latterly in the Campaigns Unit of the Scottish National Party. Clare is a Member of the British Computer Society.

 

Clare was delighted to be appointed as Organisation Committee Member for the International Children's Games Lanarkshire 2011. This was a fantastic experience that really brought home the importance of Sport in young peoples' lives and the opportunities that this opens up for them.

Clare is also the Clubsport NL Councillor representative.

 

Clare was born in Motherwell but grew up in Wishaw where her family moved when she was aged 7. Clare is a member of the National Union of Journalists. She is married and has one son. Her hobbies include dog walking, painting and watching live music and theatre. She and her husband are members of the National Trust for Scotland.

 

Clare was elected to the Scottish Parliament as a Central Scotland List Member in May 2011.
