Basketball aims to teach basic movement skills and basketball techniques in an environment suited to children's needs and limitations. The class will maximise opportunities for participation for children of all levels of ability.
Is a popular racquet sport that is taught through fun activities and games.
Rules of the game are developed through an adapted and inclusive programme which teaches each of the key components such as Serve, Clears, Drop shots and Smashes. Both Single and Doubles are covered within the classes.
Short Tennis is a fantastic game for children that introduces children to tennis in a fun and exciting way. The equipment is adapted and the use of the slow balls and small courts allows players to learn to serve, rally and score from the beginning. The sessions are based around fun games and appropriate competition is introduced as soon as possible.
Handball is a fun, exciting and fast moving game. It develops a number of key skills such as co-ordination, agility, balance and teamwork. The programme covers the rules of the game along with some fun packed activities and games.
Rugby is high paced, contact sport which burns a lot of energy . The programme covers the rules involved and includes a lot of fun games and activities. Rugby helps improve cardiovascular fitness as well as coordination and agility.
Boxfit is a boxing training circuit based class with real boxing based moves. This class is a great non contact way of picking up the sport. It is a high intensity class which improves coordination, stamina and general fitness.
Skipping classes are a fantastic way of improving coordination and stamina as well as a great fun way of exercising. A number of different skipping techniques are used as well as skipping at intervals of different intensities.
Xtreme Dodgeball is a intense, fast moving game played in teams. Teams try and eliminate each other in short games which improve hand/eye coordination and general fitness as well as a great way of meeting new friends and working as part of a team.
Similar to adult Zumba but made easier for younger children. Zumba is an energetic workout with dance moves taken from latin and salsa backgrounds.
Similar to adult Cyclefit this is a group cycle class which takes place on stationary bikes. This is a great way to improve stamina and strength as well as an opportunity to enjoy cycling indoors, a great idea with the Scottish weather.
