Fitness Class Descriptions
Our group fitness programme is designed to offer a range of class based fitness activities for all levels of fitness and ability.
The Group Fitness Programme changes on a quarterly basis giving you a chance to continue to boost your fitness to all the latest tracks and most up to date fitness classes.
Aerobic conditioning to work on heart fitness, fat burning and particular problem areas of the body. A great work out for beginners through to advanced levels.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, the water takes the stress and strain out of aerobics – great if you have weight or joint problems.
Back Care: (Referral Only)
Led by qualified Physiotherapist from NHS Lanarkshire – these classes are for people who have chronic back pain problems.
Challenge yourself with this fun, fast and furious class taking you to the next level of aerobic fitness, great in assisting with a weight loss programme.
Chill out with this yoga, tai chi and pilates inspired class which will leave you feeling relaxed and chilled.
Take no prisoners with this heart pumping routine that will leave you fighting fit.
Full body approach to toning to increase strength and develop muscle definition.
Get on down to the latest dance moves at this inspirational class set to all the latest dance releases – plus a few golden oldies.
Combines high repetition weight training with aerobic conditioning. It will tone and condition your body, can help you lose weight and change shape.
A low impact group fitness work out that lets you choose how hard you want to work. Using the Body Vive balls and bands, Body Vive will leave you rejuvenated and fizzing with energy!!
Cardiac Circuits: (Referral Only)
Hospital Referral only classes for people who have had coronary heart issues.
A form of conditioning combining resistance training and high-intensity aerobics. It is designed to be easy to follow and target strength building as well as muscular endurance.
COPD: (Referral only)
These classes are for individuals who have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and are easy sessions led by NHS qualified staff to help people exercise at a level that best suits their individual needs.
This uses dynamic moves targeting every aspect of fitness, endurance, strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. It's challenging and uses only one piece of equipment.
Legs Bums and Tums (LBT):
Ideal for toning those troublesome areas.
A 30 minute workout that includes a combination of bodyweight only strength training and high intensity intervals that will set your metabolic rates through the roof!
A low impact strength and mobility workout for the abdominal and spine which tones, shapes and strengthens.
Powerhooping is a fun-filled way to slim your waist and strengthen your core
The use of a Powerhoop for six weeks was associated with a slimmer waistline and hips. Results you will see are: Slimmer waist ,stronger core toned muscles in glutes, hips and thighs,reduced lower back pain & stiffness Improved co-ordination and balance.
A cycle based, interval training class lasting 45mins. It is an intense workout but suitable for all levels of fitness.

Slim for Health – weekly weigh in plus weekly health lifestyle advice to benefit your health and help you achieve you fitness and health goals.
A highly motivating cardiovascular and strength workout done on a stationary bike.
A combination of TRX, suspension training, vipr, kettlebells, power bags and power ropes. You will hit every muscle in your body as well as ones you never knew you had!
A low impact traditional soft Chinese system of exercise. Despite being subtle and a powerful martial art, it can be practised by anyone at any age simply for relaxation and meditation.
A group exercise class based around the principles of functional fitness training and its adaption to professional boxing training. This type of training allows the experience of a total body workout with all the fun and excitement of boxing combinations and cardio routines. designed for all levels of fitness (no beginner or advanced) and can be adapted to everyone's physical capabilities. There is no physical contact.
The X-bikes replicate the feel and sensation of outdoor cycling brought inside. It is an interval based training session with a calorie burn of up to 500 calories per 30 minute class!!
Helps maintain flexibility and increases suppleness. A low impact class.
