Location

Tryst Sports Centre is fairly centrally placed to reach North Lanarkshire's 323,780 residents and indeed it is well placed to be within easy reach of approximately 3 million of the Scottish population that resides within the central belt. It is well served with transport links, with the A80 lying immediately to the North of Cumbernauld connecting Glasgow and Edinburgh Glasgow and Edinburgh International Airports are within easy reach. Although Cumbernauld Town Centre is fairly well signposted, direction to the Tryst Sports Centre could be improved. Cumbernauld is well linked to the rail network with the main station located just a 15 minute walk from Tryst Sports Centre.

Facilities Available

Main Hall

32m x 36m - 8 badminton court sports hall, with a divisional curtain which enables the hall to be divided into two smaller halls.

The Main Hall has the capacity to host various competitions ranging from Boxing Events, international Gymnastic Events and Dance Competitions. The main hall can also cater for 5-a-sides, badminton, volleyball, basketball and a host of other indoor sports.

Main Pool

The main pool is a traditional 25m x 12.5m 6-lane pool. Pool depth ranges from 1.4m at the shallow end to 2m at the deep end.

Tryst Sports Centre received £2m+ investment including SportScotland lottery funding which allowed us to significantly refurbish the pool, changing and other associated facilities, including new timing systems for competitive swimming events, which allows the Pool regularly hosts the West District Swim meets, with teams form all over Scotland Competing.

The Tryst was also host to televised international swim events with teams from Britain, Germany and Russia.

Training Rooms

The Tryst has 2 small training rooms available which have Overhead Projectors and Screens and can accommodate training seminars, meetings or birthday parties.

Aerobic Studio

The aerobic studio is a large air-conditioned room with a wooden floor and wall mirrors. It has a staged area at the front, along with an integrated CD / ipod music system. This area, (217.82m2) can be used for both fitness classes and conferences or as a dining area for guests at any of the major events lists above.

Catering

The in-house café can cater for all types of events, ranging from small birthday parties, to large events. We can also provide a licensed bar on request.
