North Lanarkshire Leisure is a Scottish Charity, regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). NLL has the following charitable objectives:

NLL works in partnership with the North Lanarkshire Council and other strategic partners to deliver and improve sport, leisure and health opportunities throughout the authority.
NLL was established by North Lanarkshire Council on the 16th of September 2006

NLL is an entirely not-for-profit organisation so any surpluses are invested to improve facilities, services, activity programmes, staff training and other activities in line with the charitable objectives of the company.
NLL is a member of SPORTA, the Sports and Cultural Trusts Association who represent 130 similar charitable social enterprises responsible for delivering sport, recreation, leisure and cultural services throughout the UK.
The Chief Executive of NLL also represents SPORTA UK of the FIA (Fitness Industry Association) board.
